Continuing with the theme of endangered species and also with the January sponge challenge, there is a study of a ghost frog.
When I was in the UK over Christmas, I bought new colours - all Windsor and Newton. Perylene Green, Olive Green, Antwerp Blue, Quinacridone Magenta, Quinacridone Red, Perylene Maroon and Cobalt Turquoise light
Before starting, I used a green watercolour pencil to sketch in the frog. Then I immersed my paper in water and sponged in areas of Olive Green and Quinacridone Magenta
I felt it needed a bit more oomph, so responged (and got a bit of the Cobalt Turquoise on my sponge too)
A bit more. I wasn't happy with the pinkness of the Magenta, so added Perylene Maroon in the red areas and greened up the head with a bit of Viridian.
Details and markings were added in using the Perylene Green.
