Lorraine Brown - Week #46


I am guilty of not leaving enough white paper in my paintings but I always seem to focus a lot on backgrounds. To me they offer the opportunity to experiment and add texture and a bit of intrigue into my work.
When preparing to do my "Listen Up" painting (a second try was needed, see over on my blog if you want to know more), I did a quick or is that quack duck study and each time I reached for a colour I dabbed it on the side of the study. I was most surprised at how many colours I reached for as I am usually a limited palette girl.
