Christy Lemp Week #7

Winter is a great time to practice trees, just snowy backgrounds to keep things uncluttered.
I wanted to introduce a warm color to liven up the cool little pines in our yard. These are Prussian blue and Alizarin crimson, using a rigger brush held sideways starting at the bottom to dab and suggest branches.

Prussian blue and Winsor violet, with cadmium red just dropped in for warm. If you mix the cools and warms together you can get some pretty gray tones. I like the one on the bottom right-prussian, violet and cad red is a warm purply result. Maybe nice for shadows or buildings.
