Lorraine Brown - Wash Week #8

A challenge we all face as artists is how to tell the story of familiar or ordinary scenes in a unique way.  I live in a beautiful river town with panoramic river views from nearly every window of my home and I  am continually striving to tell my "everyday" landscape with something new.
Choosing new colours and creating texture seems to be the best way to get something original and make that scene different today.

  • Perylene Maroon (DS)
  • Phthalo Turquoise (WN
  • Bloodstone Genuine (DS)
In this little study using these colours I aimed for the sky and river colours to meld into one and with some dry brush stroke for texture effect. I will certainly experiment with these choices more.
