Lori Bentley Week #19

When I was in the UK visiting Vandy Massey in December, I noticed a couple of roses in her garden, that were still in bloom. As the days got colder they drooped, but the lovely pinkish orange and red colour of their petals remained in stark contrast to the monochrome colours of the rest of the garden.

I started with Qinacridone Red and Cadmium Orange.

Perylene maroon was added for the second rose and the nodes, Perylene green for the sepals and younger stems, Burnt umber for the woodier stems

A bit more detail using all colours.
