Vandy Massey - Week #26

Underwash for a textured rock face

Two Rivers handmade paper
Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber, FUB

This paper is very thick and will curve slightly when wet, but is still stiff enough to stand on its side for a long period without support.
One the colours were applied, clingfilm was put on the are of the rock face. Then, carefully lifting the end of the clingfilm, I dripped clean water under the clingfilm so that it ran down the channels created by the folds in the film. This moved the pigment further down the paper, and created granulated lines across the rock face.

Water run under clingfilm to create strata in the rock face
