Lorraine Brown - Week #43

I am back in my studio after more than a month travelling country Australia. We had a brilliant one day visit to an Open Plains Zoo in Dubbo in NSW and with the sun shining and its warm breeze we spent our time taking fabulous images for me to add to my animal reference material.
We got very close with the Giant Tortoise and I was able to touch one who was fast asleep basking in the sun. His skin felt so leathery and tough and his shell so hard and dusty.
Today I thought of experimenting to create him in a slightly more colourful way than in the real.
I have chosen:
Raw Sienna, Ultra Marine Violet, Perylene Violet and French Ultra Marine Blue - all Winsor and Newton Pigments.
