Lorraine Brown - Wash Week #50

My recent practice has been to select colours to make interesting backgrounds for my subjects. I am finding painting the subject the easiest in my works but much thought goes into the background where a story might still be needed through colour, texture and patterns.
Using little studies as above is perfect for painting the same subject but finding something unique for each work. Above are two different colour selections. The painting below is using the top selection.
