Tap Dancing 425gsm Saunders Waterford CP Paper 28.5cm x 38cm (1/4 sheet) |
Sometimes starting with an intended quick study leads to a finished painting. This happened with my antique brass tap. I went straight in with Raw Sienna on the paper no drawing. After adding shading I was really pleased with it so immediately thought of continuing and composing a proper painting. I added the little Fairy Blue Wren (with a pencil outline) and then painted the background washes after the subjects were dry, using colours in the washes that had been used in the subject.
Colours used: Winsor and Newton Raw Sienna, Cobalt Blue, Daniel Smith Manganese Blue and Perylene Maroon
